Transitional Arrangements
Transitional arrangements are being implemented for IMGs with continuous employment with WA Health (or other relevant employer) for less than 12 months and are currently registered with the Medical Board of Western Australia (MBWA). (IMGs must complete 12 months of continuous registration and employment).
The Transitional arrangements follow the same principles as the processes for ‘recognition of prior learning’. The Transitional arrangements focus on the assessment of previously acquired skills and knowledge that an individual has achieved within a professional setting or an accredited training system. They are used to accredit individuals who currently possess commensurate knowledge, skills and professional attributes, achieved previously, to ensure these individuals will not be disadvantaged in a new, or re-modelled, assessment framework.
